Frisco Independent School District, Texas Sexual Harassment Initiative
In Frisco Independent School District, our sexual harassment initiative, led by initiative leaders Eesha Vejella and Nishita Nekkanti, aims to increase education about sexual harassment in schools. This is an issue that affects many people, and as such, this initiative is taking a broad approach to sexual harassment education, seeking to improve training protocol for staff in Frisco Independent School District to ensure schools can help survivors of sexual harassment and/or assault get the help they need.
Seminole County Public Schools, Florida Sexual Harassment Initiative
In Seminole County, FL, Title IX—crucial support for survivors of sexual harassment/assault—is vastly inaccessible to students. If a student is harassed, many have no education on sexual harassment or Title IX to guide them on the next steps. Our initiative leader, a Seminole County Public Schools student, Fayza Jaffer, is fighting to change this. All students should have mental health support, accessible Title IX resources, and comprehensive education not just when they are sexually harassed—but also well before.
In Duval County, Florida, students who experience sexual harassment are met with reluctant, inaccessible resources. Title IX offices must be within easy access of all students, and yet, most students have no idea that Title IX provides them resources to support sexual harassment survivors. This initiative, led by student and initiative leader Darshini Vanchee, is fighting to change that.
Forsyth County Public Schools, Georgia Sexual Harassment Initiative
In Forsyth County, GA, Title IX—crucial support for survivors of sexual harassment/assault—is vastly inaccessible to students. If a student is harassed, many have no education on sexual harassment or Title IX to guide them on the next steps.
